Happy New Year!
I wanted to thank each member for your support over the last 2 years. We have seen many changes in our society and our local chapter and I appreicate all the volunteers that made my job as president go smoothly. Speaking of volunteers, I want to send a special THANK YOU to the members of the Community Service Committee for their many hours of planning and service over the last 2 years. Serving in 2014: Callie Byrne, Dian Steele, Jason Brown and Diana Creekmore. In 2015, Lorali Todd was added to the committee. I am excited about the next 2 years as Diana Creekmore will be serving as our Grand Lake Chapter President and Melissa Hilvers will be stepping into the roll of President-Elect. I know you will continue to support our leaders as you have in the past.
On 11/16/2015 we mailed 14 boxes to our soldiers overseas. 13 boxes were sent to Zach Wood, a resident of Van Wert. His troup is serving in the Middle East. One box was sent to Gina Culp, stationed in Honolulu, HI. She is the daughter of Stepanie Luma, a Personal Lines Account Manager at the Webb Insurance Agency in Lima, OH. Stephanie said her daughter was serving on a destroyer at sea and would be so thankful to receive the box of supplies. Thank you to the volunteers who helped pack the boxes. Melissa Hilvers, Lorali Todd, Callie Byrne, Penny Duer, Becky Weiss, Jason Brown, and Pam Leis.
Three volunteers served on November 14th for the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual event, "Dancing with the BIG Stars". Thanks to Callie Byrne, Becky Weiss, and Jason Brown for helping out with this worthwhile cause.
It was nice to see one of our own members’ blog posted on the CPCU institutes website. Click here to see Jason Brown’s blog https://www.theinstitutescommunity.org/pg/blog/all?post=950591
Congratulations to Jason Brown and Becky Weiss for completing their CPD requirements! I asked Becky to share what steps she took to complete her CPD. She said she took 2 AU courses, obtained her Agent’s License, and taught an AINS class it gave her enough credits to qualify. I would encourage you to check out the CPCU Society Website to see if you qualify!
Finally, we have two meetings scheduled for 2016 so far. Mark your calendars!
